HI. My name is Anne Ruthmann, and I'm a self-improvement junkie.
If I'm not striving toward a better life, what's the point of living? If I'm not constantly working on being a better person, than I'm not growing, and life becomes boring. I thrive on helping others. I thrive on tackling challenges and solving problems... and wow have I had a LOT of problems over the last year! I'll recap all of those problems in my year-end review, but right now I can tell you that with absolute certainty, I would not be able to get through the challenges I've had if I didn't have a positive outlook on life. To help me maintain that positive outlook, I find ways to stay inspired and hopeful about overcoming challenges.
One of my sources of inspiration comes from reading books (I listen to books because my ears are often available even though my eyes are often occupied.) Many of my favorite books have been written by the very same people who are featured on Better Life Coaches. I'm not even sure how I ran into their free videos on YouTube (yay for random internet connections), but after listening to just a few of the short clips offered, I fell in love and knew it was something that I would want to refer back to, and thus, had to share on my blog if for no other reason than for my own future reference! (Yes, I said thus.. it's a fun word even if it is a little "old".)
Because I'm a bit of a self-help junkie... I've pretty much heard it all. But part of being a "junkie" is that I constantly crave more, even if it's just a reminder of something I heard a long time ago. Listening is the easy part. DOING is the hard part. And it takes a LOT of practice doing and reminding myself of what I should be doing in order to actually make the changes that help improve my life.
What inspires you to be a better person? Where do you go for a lift when you're feeling stuck?
Below are just a few of the great clips you'll find on the YouTube profile for Better Life Coaches...

Wow. Okay, this is going to sound weird...but turns out...I'm an optimist. That video about always looking for the silver lining? He may as well have been describing me. What's weird is that I don't really think of myself that way. I wonder why that is. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these, Anne. They're wonderful.
PS—I'm a self-help junkie, too.
