I Need YOUR Help!
posted on: October 14, 2007
I've been so busy that I don't think I've had a haircut for at least 6 months. Obviously hair has not been a huge priority for me. It covers my head to keep it warm, and sometimes it makes me look pretty (or not). But I would like to find a haircut that makes me feel like a SUPASTAR, so I'll actually care about my mop! So here's where you come in, and where I just might be crazy (as Gnarls Barkley starts playing in my head)....
Find a hairstyle that you think would look best on me and either LEAVE A COMMENT with a link to the photo, OR EMAIL ME the photo, OR DOWNLOAD MY PICTURE and add the hairstyle onto my head and then email it to me!! I'm going to take my top 3 favorites, put them on my blog on MONDAY EVENING, and then let YOU vote on how I should get my haircut! I scheduled my haircut for Tuesday (10/16) afternoon, so this needs to happen QUICKLY! And of course, I'll post a picture of the final result. ;-) (This just might be the craziest thing I've ever done on my blog!!!)
Funny enough, this idea came about after getting my dog's hair cut. She's been to the groomer two or three times in the last 6 months!! I know - how is my dog's hair a bigger priority than my own?! (In all fairness, HERS get dingleberries stuck in it if it gets too long, and that's just super gross and difficult to clean!) The fun part is that when she gets her hair cut, she prances and dances around like a little kid who just got candy... which made me think... maybe I'd prance around like that if I had a really awesome haircut too. HA!! (Note to self: do not be the dog owner that looks like her dog!)

I think I like the Deb look, but only if you also wear stirrup pants!
ReplyDeleteBy "Deb" do you mean my rockin' side ponytail?! HA!!! I'm totally bringing it back, just like I brought sexy back! I'm such a geek... ;)

I need to get my hair done this week too! Let me know what you thing of my recent wedding pics (more up soon too) on the blog!
Your face is a similar shape to mine, and I am currently rocking the following haircut:

I was told by my haircutty-spa-lady that for maximum effect, the shortest layer should be at about the jawline, and it works! I love this haircut!
(Really bad picture of me with this style, albeit slightly shorter: http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b319/notbridezilla/Photo6.jpg
Anne I got my hair cut yesterday morning! I just went to a random salon, and told the guy to do what he wanted. I ended up with an edgy short A-Line cute which is great for my facial shape. We'll see if I can actually make it look right everyday though. :)
ReplyDeleteps - your pup is freaking adorable!
ReplyDeleteHey Anne!
ReplyDeleteYou should totally go for a layered look. It'll give you more body. I'd also recommend a good set of hot rollers. They're really quick and easy to use. I roll my hair up in them when its still slightly damp, spray a little hairspray in, let it dry, unroll, run my fingers through it, and go!
Here are a couple of photos I found..

Well Anne, long time no commenting I know, but I am a loyal blog stalker to you!
ReplyDeleteAs a hairdresser during the week I couldn't resist!~
Alright here is one idea that you could so pull off.
http://www.2hairstyles.com/mid5.shtml
And really you could pull off any hairstyle Kelly Clarkson has worn. Personally I think this one would be the bomb cut for you and it's modern/chic/fun/classic all in one. And it's really easy to style and grow as well. But you better have a great hairstylist!
If I was there I'd be on your porch with my scissors right now instead of writing this! :o)
Here is my vote: not too short and goes great with your beautiful face and awesome personality!

Have fun. Let us know what you decide on.

What a great idea to consult the readers for help in this area! On hair: I always think it first matters what kind of hair you have. Bangs would be a nice idea. Bangs make my forehead break out (even without product in hair) so I never get to have them. :( Whatever you choose, make sure it will work with what cho mamma gave ya. And on your dog: Wow!! I guess I've seen pics before, but that sweater is crazy adorable, and that haircut is amaz-zazing. Aw...put have photo shoot with my dog asap.
ReplyDeleteawww, your puppy is too cute!
ReplyDeleteThis link is very similar to my new style (I chopped it!)...and I think it would look great on you. It's face-framing and flattering...also super easy and versatile. It looks cute curled under and flipped out.

Have fun! :)
Your.dog....is SO CUUUUTE! Oh my...I think I'm in love!
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't have air tips because, quite frankly, I look like a mix between Seabiscuit and a Shetland pony. I, too, need a new do! :)
It's to bad you already scheduled an appointment! I have a great cut I could do for you that would be so pretty on you and easy to maintain! I really owe you a whole bunch of favors, so the cut would be on me!! I know you'll be here this weekend, so if you change your mind let me know cause I would love to do it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shots! Love the puppy too!! I say go Katie Holmes. I think her cut would look great on you: http://gracemagazine.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/holmes300.jpg
ReplyDeleteOK - I like this pic waaay better: http://teenvogue.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/06/14/katieposh1.jpg
ReplyDeleteHa! Thanks for the funny post, Ann!
ReplyDeletefun + sassy hair comes to mind with you! Have a blast with your new doo and I'm sure you will look fahbulous!!
Oh my goodness, your puppy is ADORABLE! Did you know I have your doggie's cousin??
We have a 14 week old white standard poodle. Poodles are the best and they really do prance when they get their haircut!
omg. you are one of those people who dress up the dog... disturbing!
ReplyDeleteRachel.. I'm not sure what you're implying by "one of those people", but Misty wears the sweater out of necessity. She doesn't have a layer of "fur", she only has "hair" (which is great because it doesn't shed), and when her hair is short and it's cold outside she shivers without an extra layer on.
ReplyDeleteI am upset that you didn't add a few of my favorites. I vote for either cornrows or some big 80's hair!!
ReplyDeleteMike... if you send me pictures or include links I will SERIOUSLY consider them. ;) You know, even with a short haircut, I could still totally pull of cornrows.
ReplyDeleteAnne!!

I love having options!! :)
I think a short bob a la Jessica Alba would look adorable on you - dark of course! http://hairstyles.free-beauty-tips.com/pics/JessicaAlbashorthairstyle.jpg
ReplyDeleteOr http://www.hairstylescut.com/images/medium-flaring-ends-hairsty.jpg and I swear to God I wasn't just searching Jessica Alba hairstyles. Apparently I just equate you with Jessica.
and THIS, I think, is my favorite.

hey rockstar! i think you would look great with some blunt bangs and the haircut that is longer towards the front than in the back. i know trying to describe this in words is like trying to describe a photo in words, but i don't have a photo of what i'm talking about - sorry! i can't wait to see what you end up with!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!! I didn't want to comment on any one hairstyle to create a bias because I really want this to be reader's choice but please know that I appreciate ALL of the options and how THOUGHTFUL you were to take the time to help me out!!! The final three have been posted and now I need your help in picking my next haircut!! Please CLICK HERE TO VOTE!!!
