Nicole & Darric Engagement
posted on: December 1, 2006
Nicole had a lot of fun ideas for their engagement session!! When she told me that they were thinking about doing their engagement pictures in Brown County, IN I was excited to finally check out this place everyone had been telling me about!! All I really knew was that Brown County was home to a state park and the colors were stunning in the fall. As soon as I got to Nashville, IN - I could not believe how many people were there!! It was as if the entire population of Indiana had decided to visit Nashville at the same time! The town is small with one main street and little sidewalks that everyone had to cram on to avoid walking in the street. I was lucky to find a parking spot!
To kickstart the fun, Nicole planned for us to start off with one of Darric's favorite games. She mentioned that Darric loved golf, but to level the playing field and have a little more fun, they decided on minigolf! Darric helped Nicole with her putts, but in the end, I think Nicole actually won because she scored a hole-in-one somewhere in there... to Darric's credit, I think he was a little distracted. ;-)
The Brown Co. state park is huge!! And everything I had been told looked like it was true. Beautiful views, gorgeous fall colors, not to mention a perfect day to enjoy all of it!!
At one of the highest points in the park, there's a neat log cabin style look-out tower which made for some very flattering warm lighting which was just bouncing off all of the yellow and orange leaves nearby.
I think it was just outside of the park that Nicole had found this very old covered bridge! I had mentioned that I hadn't ever seen a lot of covered bridges before and I thought it might be fun to see what's possible, especially since there are so many of them across Indiana!
I must have felt deprived from not having any kissing in my last engagement session, because even I think have too many pictures of Nicole & Darric kissing!! HA!! Thanks for such a fun shoot Nicole & Darric!! I can already tell your wedding is going to be a blast!
