You know how one cool thing usually leads to another? Well, as I was putting together my LOVE IT: MOO post, I explored some of the MOO approved designers and fell in love with Busted Tees (among others!) I haven't been able to get their humorous phrases and designs out of my head ever since!! The beauty of their work is that much of it is so subtle that some of the humor may take a while to sink in, but that's what makes it so awesome. The best part is that you can either purchase MOO stuff with their designs, or you can head to their regular website and get your hands on some Busted Tees and Hoodies. Holiday gifts anyone?!

Bed Jumping!
posted on: June 20, 2007
I debated about whether or not I would actually post this. A few people dared me to. The professional in me thought that it would be soooo unprofessional, but the Anne in me thought that it would be sooo funny!! Even though I take my JOB very seriously, I try not to take MYSELF too seriously!
The night before a wedding is usually quite stressful - double checking equipment, making sure batteries are charged, and thinking about all of the things I want to try creatively while also having anxiety over the shots I absolutely have to get. So, when I found the website bedjump.com, I thought I'd give it a try at the last hotel I stayed in. If you're staying in a hotel the night before your wedding - I highly recommend a little bed jumping to help you relax!! Not only was it a great stress reliver and a ton of fun, it was also a great workout!! The professional in me also used it as an opportunity to experiment with some different off-camera slaved flash techniques. Yes, I'm a dork and here are some of my slick bed jumping moves...
Jumping Froggy Style

Crouching Writer Style

Floating Feather Style

Flying Clown Style

After seeing these a few people commented that it looks like I might be on the Indiana State bed jumping team. To my knowledge, they don't have one - but if they start one, I'll sign up! If you feel inspired to try this, send your images to bedjump.com and then tell me about it!!

The Bride Wig-Out Video
posted on: January 25, 2007
By now, if you have anything to do with weddings, you've probably seen this little gem of a creation. When Kathleen forwarded the link to me, I decided it was time to blog about it and uncover the TRUTH! If you haven't seen it before, enjoy... but don't get too upset by it....
10 Reasons Why This is NOT a Real Bride
1. Titled "WIG-out" and the bride is obviously wearing a horrrrrrible WIG.
2. This is the only video posted by this YouTube profile- and the profile is named "wigoutgirl".
3. They perfectly timed the brides entrance with the pouring of the champagne.
4. No bride would EVER leave the salon if she hated her hair that much - especially not with over an HOUR left to fix it!
5. Can we say... OVERACTING?! But I have to give props to the ladies playing the bridesmaids.. they were pretty good.
6. Brides NEVER have a pair of scissors within close reach, especially not of THAT size.
7. The camera work was pretty slick - nice zoom, focus, framing, and cut action going on there! Well directed!
8. No bridesmaid would actually keep filming when her friend started freaking out like that.
9. No real tears were shed in the making of this movie... except tears of laughter.
10. Props= $50 (Girls are always looking for ways to reuse that wedding and bridesmaid dress they only wore once!)
Camera= $800+
Making people think it was real= priceless
I seriously hope they win an award for that!! It actually had a decent plot and storyline.

Sunday Funnies!!!
posted on: January 20, 2007
One of my favorite things when I was a kid was getting to read the "funnies" (aka comics) in the Sunday newspapers. I don't read the newspaper much anymore because all the great stuff is online, but I still enjoy lots of funnies!!!
The first is an actual comic from What The Duck, which is entirely dedicated to photographers ;-)

I busted out laughing so hard when I read this!!! Mainly because this is how a lot of wedding photographers describe their work (yes, I'm one of them!), and what a lot of other photographers think of their work!!! Bwahaha!!
The second & third funnies come from a recent lunch meeting with some other Indiana photographers (they're going to kill me for this!!!) We're such a goofy bunch!!!
This video was inspired by The Long Awkward Pose, and the victim is Bobbi, of Photography By Bobbi. She can't help but be cute! Don't you just want to put her in your pocket and take her home with you?
.. and then I caught Amanda, of Turtle Pond Photography laughing at the pictures she took of Bobbi (which is why there was a red light flashing on Bobbi's face). You'll also see a very quick scan of the rest of the photographers at the table, including: Cindy Wagner, Matthew Gordon, David Takayoshi, J. Scott, Bobbi's husband Mike, and Amanda's husband Nate. ;-) I swear this woman is so photogenic - even when she's being a total goof she looks absolutely gorgeous!
In all fairness, the fourth funny is of me singing karaoke with a bunch of my husband's college students cheering me on, and my husband selling me out for practicing in advance! I think my husband should give all of them an "A+" for sharing the love!! (BTW.. I'm a classically trained singer, which means I SUCK at Karaoke!)
I saved the best, or perhaps the worst, for last!!! This HILARIOUS video is of an older man karaoke singing "P**** Control" by Prince! It was so hilarious that we all got up and started dancing to root him on!!!
PARENTAL ADVISORY: CONTAINS PROFANITY!
